I know what you mean. Walking in my cold boggy garden the other day I found one beautiful rose amongst lacklustre leaves defying the miserable weather. However along the highway the other day I saw one of my very favourite flowers just starting to show colour – the wonderful wattle – brilliant! I love July and August just for the beauty and vibrancy of the wattle in all shapes and sizes.
