As I’ve mentioned a few times I’ve been playing with light lately, specifically speedlights (otherwise known as flashes).

This is one image from a dozen or so that I took of water pouring over a light bulb. There are a few tricky elements to this shot, and if you want to try this at home I highly recommend you have lots of baking paper (for the backdrop) and someone to hold it still!

You can see another version of this shot on our 52 Week Project blog – along with my collaborators’ fabulous images.

I generally don’t take landscape images, but when there’s a lake and it’s sunset and the water is still and the reflections are sharp, I figured … why not?

I generally don’t take landscape images, but last weekend I had a hankering to capture flowing water using a filter to slow down the shutter speed, and hence slow down the water.

Here is my first attempt.

At the Art Centre last week I found a car

A window

And I also found a clock.

Every few minutes the man in the clock rubbed out the hands, and drew them in at the right time. I wonder if he got sick of it?

My photography class finished tonight. Where did that eight weeks go?

This image won the approval of my tutor for lots of technical reasons: leading lines, diminishing perspective, repetition, lines, colour, texture, framing a subject within a subject …

I just like it because it has Tim in it!
