As I’ve mentioned a few times I’ve been playing with light lately, specifically speedlights (otherwise known as flashes).
This is one image from a dozen or so that I took of water pouring over a light bulb. There are a few tricky elements to this shot, and if you want to try this at home I highly recommend you have lots of baking paper (for the backdrop) and someone to hold it still!

When I’m learning new things, in this case trying to balance the ambient light with flash, it’s good to have a patient model.

I generally don’t take landscape images, but when there’s a lake and it’s sunset and the water is still and the reflections are sharp, I figured … why not?

I generally don’t take landscape images, but last weekend I had a hankering to capture flowing water using a filter to slow down the shutter speed, and hence slow down the water.
